Description
Tamarind is the fruit of Tamarindus indica, a large, tropical tree in the Fabaceae (legume) family. The tree produces long, curved, brown pods filled with a sticky, dark brown pulp surrounding hard seeds. It is this pulp that is used as a souring agent across cuisines worldwide.
